Action Plan for Goal 3
Address transportation improvements
recommended in TAS study issued in January, 1998.
August-December
- The Facilities and Operations Advisory Committee will
review the current plan for the consolidation of transportation
facilities, assist in the development of alternative plans, and
determine the priority for the consolidations of transportation
facilities versus other district needs.
- The Redistricting Advisory Committee will communicate
with the Transportation Advisory Committee regarding proposals
to modify boundaries of elementary schools and determine how
boundary changes will affect the operating budget
- The Transportation Advisory Committee will review
the Board Policy and Regulations proposed in fall, 1999, and
work on cost-benefit analyses of the various redistricting alternatives.
November
- The Board will consider changes in the Board's transportation
policies and regulations as recommended by the Transportation
Advisory Committee
December
- The Board will receive recommendations from the Facilities
and Operations Advisory Committee regarding the consolidation
of the transportation facilities in the district.
January
- The Redistricting Advisory Committee will issue
its report on elementary boundary changes with an accompanying
cost benefit analysis prepared by the Transportation Advisory
Committee
March
- The Transportation Advisory Committee will issue a
status report on the TAS study, providing recommendations on
how the Board can address ant outstanding recommendations

Deliverables:
- By November, 2000, The Board will publicly review the policy
and regulations recommended by the Transportation Advisory Committee
- By January, 2001, the Board will receive reports from both
the Redistricting and Transportation Advisory Committees regarding
the feasibility of redrawing elementary boundaries.
- By December, 2000, the Facilities and operations Advisory
Committee will present a report recommending the priority status
of the consolidation of WCSD's transportation facilities
- By March, 2000, the Board will receive an report updating
the status of the recommendations in the TAS report
