Action Plan for Goal 4
Review and improve staff evaluation
systems, staff recruitment, and staff retention at all levels
of the organization.
October
- The Policy Review Committee will review existing policies
related to recruitment and evaluation of staff
- In preparing for negotiations, the Board will review the
existing WCT contract to determine any language or salary structures
that need to be modified to assist the district in the recruitment
and retention of quality teachers
November
- The Board will consider changes in Board policies evaluation
recommended by the Policy Committee
December
- The staff will present the Board with a plan to phase in
evaluation systems for all employees over the next two fiscal
years (i.e. 2001-02, 2002-03)
February
- As part of the budget process, the staff will incorporate
any organizational changes and training activities needed to
implement newly devised evaluation systems
May
- The staff will present a report on the implementation of
the recently developed evaluation systems for the WCT and WAA,
and the effectiveness of any changes to the organizational structure

Deliverables:
- The Board will publicly review the recommendations of the
Policy Committee relative to staff evaluations and recruitment
- The staff will develop and present publicly a plan for reviewing
ALL evaluation systems by the end of calendar year 2001.
- The staff's budget request will include the funds needed
to implement WCSD's newly devised evaluation systems
