It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Van Wyck Junior High School. I am honored to have been selected to serve this community and look forward to partnering with Dr. Shuchat and Mr. Siena in order to sustain the best possible educational experience for students.
This September marks my 20th year in Education, with the majority of those years in the middle school English classroom setting. Most recently, I assumed the role of Interim Assistant Principal at Linden Avenue Middle School in the Red Hook Central School District. I am passionate about my role as a leader, and I utilize my strengths in professional organizations to help maximize teacher and student potential. Currently, I am the President-Elect of the New York State English Council, as well as the Director of Program and Career Development for the Lower Hudson Council of Administrative Women in Education.
I reside in Pawling with my husband, Mike and daughter, Emily.
As I continue to meet staff and parents in the community, who have welcomed me warmly, I am excited about the upcoming year and what it will mean for our student population. Their journey is important to me. Together, we will continue the rich tradition of helping young adults grow socially, emotionally and academically.
The mission of the Wappingers Central School District is to empower all of our students with the competencies and confidence to challenge themselves, to pursue their passions, and to realize their potential while growing as responsible members of their community.
