District Advisory Facilities Committee Update

The Board of Education approved the charter for the District Advisory Facilities Committee (DAFC) on Thursday, July 10, 2014.  Designated members of the Board of Education worked diligently to create a charter in order to ensure the committee is able to carry out the work necessary, remain on task with focus and direction in order to successfully meet the needs of our District.

The DAFC membership will consist of one parent or community member from each school, as well as a staff member from each school.   There were several schools where more than one parent or community member from the designated area applied to be a member of the DAFC. The selection was made through a lottery that was held at the Board of Education meeting on July 10, 2014.  The Board of Education also appointed two additional community members to the committee.

The Board of Education and the District would like to thank everyone who took the time and showed their dedication and commitment to our community by applying to be a member of the District Advisory Facilities Committee. Although, you may not have been officially selected to be a member, all meetings will be open to the public, strictly as observers.  The minutes of the meetings will also be distributed to Board members, the principals of all schools and made public on the District website.
