2026-2027 Transportation for Private and Parochial Schools
DUE DATE: 4/1/26
All transportation request forms to and from registered day care providers, private child care or private/parochial schools, must be submitted annually.
These forms must be received by the WCSD Transportation office no later than 4/1/26 or within thirty (30) days of moving into the district.

NOTE:
When submitting your childcare request form by the April 1st deadline to your K-8 school, you are guaranteed transportation to any of the NYS licensed daycare located within our WCSD boundary.
After April 1st, you are restricted to your own school's attendance zone.

The New York State Office of Children and Family Services website includes a database of regulated child care providers in the state. This search engine allows you to look up specific providers by name, county, school district, or zip code. Contact information, address, capacity, when it first opened, and the current status of its license/registration is listed for each provider. You can easily research all of the licensed daycare providers in the Wappingers Central School District.
Education Law 3635 (2) provides in pertinent part: A parent or guardian of a child residing in any school district, or any representative authorized by such parent or guardian, who desires for a child during the next school year any transportation authorized or directed by this chapter shall submit a written request therefore to the school trustees or board of education of such district not later than the first day of April preceding the next school year, provided, however, that a parent or guardian of a child not residing in the district on such date shall submit a written request within thirty days after establishing residence in the district. Students must reside within 15 miles of the school they are attending.
La Ley de Educación 3635 (2) preceptúa en su parte conducente que: Un padre, madre o tutor de un menor que reside en cualquier distrito escolar, o cualquier representante autorizado por el padre, madre o tutor, que desee transporte autorizado o dirigido por esta delegación durante el próximo año lectivo debe presentar una solicitud por escrito ante consejo directivo o junta educativa de dicho distrito antes del primer día de abril precedente al próximo año lectivo, sin embargo, si el padre, madre o tutor del niño no residen en el distrito en dicha fecha debe presentar la solicitud por escrito dentro de los treinta días después de establecer residencie en el distrito. Los alumnos deben residir dentro de las 15 millas de la escuela a la que asisten.
